Chili Con Carne

I finally found a version of this song that is the same as our arrangement.  I couldn't find a studio version, but this choir is very accurate.  It's quick though!

New songs!

Instead of youtube videos, I thought I'd put up the link to the pro recordings from the publisher's website.  They're cleaner recordings and better for hearing the parts.

The Way You Look Tonight arranged by Kirby Shaw:

I make a lot of chili this time of year, and this is one of the best recipes I know of!  Fun fact: This is one of the first arrangements my jazz choir tackled in High School!

For extra inspiration, here is a video of The Nylons performing "Up the Ladder to the Roof" ... perhaps we could add some choreography...

The first arrangement we went through was Kirby Shaw's arrangement of "Cheek to Cheek".  There's a great choir on the island run by Rosemary Lindsay.  Here they are performing the arrangement.

The next arrangement we looked at was by Jay Althouse, "At Last"

Last but not least we began digging into this great arrangement by Mark Brymer of The Nylons "Up the Ladder to the Roof"

Enjoy! See you on Wednesday!

Here is a video of Who Could Ask for Anything More:

Just a reminder that Sarah, Jude, John F and Jon M are singing "Our Love is Here to Stay"; Elisabeth, Jan, Canby and Don are singing "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off"; Ursula, Sandy, Donna, Judy, Sue, Rob and Peter are singing "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and everyone is singing "I Got Rhythm"

If you want a higher definition recording, here is a link to the Alfred website with an mp3 of the piece:

I just uploaded the video I took of our concert in December. It's not the best quality, or angle (I'm sorry to those cut out of the shot) but it's a reference.
The songs on the first video are, Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder, arr. by Kirby Shaw; Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper, arr. by Philip Kern (feat. Jon on the solo); And So It Goes by Billy Joel, arr. by Bob Chilcott which features Don, John F, Peter, and Susie on the solos.

The second video has Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard arr. by Greg Jasperse; Fields of Gold by. Sting, arr. by Naomi Crellin, performed by Idea of North; and last but not least, Drive My Car by John Lennon & Paul McCartney arr. by Deke Sharon.

Great performance everyone!!
